Armenia’s FM receives newly appointed ambassador of Ukraine
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Friday newly appointed Ukrainian ambassador to Armenia Peter Litvin on the occasion of handing over the copies of his credentials, Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.
Congratulating the ambassador on the appointment and wishing success in his important mission, Mnatsakanyan voiced conviction that the ambassador will contribute to the further development and expansion of the Armenian-Ukrainian relations.
The minister and the ambassador also referred to a number of issues of bilateral agenda, stressing the necessity of undertaking steps toward expansion of cooperation in the spheres of science, culture and tourism.
The parties registered the growth of the volume of trade turnover between Armenia and Ukraine and expressed opinion that there is still great potential for boosting the trade-economic cooperation.
At the meeting Zohrabayan briefed on the Armenian approaches over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict regulation and stressed the necessity of preservation of the existing format of talks. The interlocutors agreed that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of the conflict.
