Armenian-Russian relations develop firmly – Russia’s President
The relations between Armenia and Russia are firmly developing in all directions, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin stated at the meeting with Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
RIA Novosti reports that at the beginning of the meeting the Russian president outlined the peculiarities of the bilateral relations.
“As of today Russian-Armenian relations are firmly developing in all directions. It refers to political, military sector, security issues, economic cooperation. I am ready to specify our partnership for long-term prospective,” Putin said, stressing Russia’s leading role in Armenia’s investment field.
He also spoke about the cooperation in the energy sector, noting the low gas tariff Russia has established for Armenia (150$ for 1000 cb.m.) and mentioned the nuclear and thermo energy sectors.
“Our ties are developing in metallurgy and machine-building sectors. Overall we have what to talk about,” Putin said, noting that last year the trade turnover between the two countries made 30%. He expressed hope that in future this figure will grow more.
