Armenia’s ex PM accuses SIS of forwarding false charges against him
The witch-hunting policy of the Armenian authorities, the suppressions of freedom of speech will not have a good outcome, Armenia’s ex prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan wrote in his Facebook page.
“About a month ago a group of masked people intruded into the apartments and territories belonging to me and my relatives grounding it on received operative information. Despite finding nothing illegal they seized my passport violating the Armenian legislation,” he wrote.
“I have criticized such actions of the Armenian authorities in one of my interviews on September 4. In response immediately after the day of the interview I received a note of invitation to the Special Investigation Service to be a witness in another criminal case,” he wrote, stressing that he was interrogated as a witness but immediately afterwards charges have been brought against him and a signature bond on not leaving the country applied.
“It is rather interesting when after hearing criticism a person is invited into SIS, obvious false charges are being brought against him aiming to silence any different opinion,” he wrote, stressing that the witch-hunting policy of the Armenian authorities and suppression of freedom of speech and expression of different opinion will not have positive outcome.
