Armenia’s NA chairman believes Georgia’s PM’s visit to contribute to further development of relations
Armenia’s National Assembly Chairman Ara Babloyan received on September 10 delegation headed by Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze who is in Armenia on a working visit, NA press service reports.
At the meeting present were vice chairman of the parliament Eduard Sharmazanov, Republican MP Tatchat Vardapetyan, Yelk MP Edmon Marukyan, ARF-D MP Spartak Seyranyan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Armenia’s ambassador to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan.
Welcoming the guests Ara Babloyan stressed that their visit will promote the development of Armenian-Georgian friendly relations and their further reinforcement.
The NA chairman highlighted the importance of parliamentary contacts between the two countries and activation of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Georgia’s PM thanked for the reception and stressed that high level meetings contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
Mamuka Bakhtadze positively assessed the role of parliamentary diplomacy and rated high the importance of reciprocal visits and active cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
Speaking about Armenian-Georgian relations, the Georgian premier noted that the friendship between the two countries has century long history and Georgia is always ready to develop cooperation with Armenia in all the spheres. He said that in parallel with high level polticial relations it is necessary to boost economic cooperation as well.
During the meeting the parties also referred to regional issues.
