Talks about format of participation in snap elections untimely – Armen Sargsyan
Talking about format of participation of alliances in snap parliamentary election is a bit early, Yelk faction MP Aram Sargsyan told the reporters on Monday.
“Yerevan City Council elections may create opportunities for reclassifications. I cannot say for sure what developments may take place,” Sargsyan added.
He noted that Yelk alliance will participate in the election but did not exclude the possibility for the forces to come up separately.
“It all depends on the assessments of the political forces, their chances. If Civil Contract party manages to take big number of votes on its own, I personally refuse to be part of a big force where I am small,” he said, stressing that he is not the one to act so for getting a position. “If our people fully trust the Civil Contract party and vote for them, they should be the majority in the parliament, there is no issue of alliance in such case,” Sargsyan stressed.
He said if the Civil Contract participates in the election separately, the Republic and Bright Armenia parties will participate in a united format.
The MP also added that Yelk alliance has not collapsed. He expressed conviction that this alliance will survive until the formation of the new parliament.
