Armenia’s culture sector avoids paying taxes – SRC chairman
The Singapore miracle cannot be applied in Armenia, chairman of the State Revenue Committee Davit Ananyan said at the meeting with reporters, speaking about his visit to Singapore.
“In Singapore the readiness to pay taxes is very important. Paying taxes there is an element of patriotism. We have not grown to this ideology yet,” he said.
“Here we do everything to avoid taxes,” Ananyan said, noting that not paying taxes has become a tradition in the sphere of culture as well.
“For instance we have beloved singers, they sing patriotic songs but neither of them has presented a revenue declaration,” the SRC chairman said, adding that only Tigran Mansuryan presented declaration on time.
