Armenia to work with Russia in supplying aid to Syria – Armenia’s FM

It is not the first time Armenia supplies humanitarian aid to Syria’s population and local Armenian community, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said, asked whether it will not make Armenia a target for terrorists.

“Their security issue continues being urgent. We work with our partners with this logic. Russia has previously as well assisted us in sending aid to Syria,” he said, adding that this time as well Armenia will work with Russia.

Mnatsakanyan stressed that the situation in Syria is of great significance for Armenia not only because it relates to regional security and stability but because Armenia worries about the security of its compatriots living in Syria.

He noted that Armenia has hosted its compatriots since 2011 and continues working over the security issues of Armenians living there.
