Army received no order to open fire at March 1 events - Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces
The Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan urged not to link the attempts of sabotage that took place on the front line in 2008 with March 1 events.
“The front line was not diluted. As a head of operative department I was responsible for the organization of military duty and urge not to link the March 1 case with what happened on the front line,” Artak Davtyan told the reporters today, referring to the statement of Special Investigation Service chief that the army not only participated in the events of March 1 but opened fire.
Davtyan said on March 5 an attempt of sabotage took place in Artsakh sector but was prevented.
“That time the adversary had 10 or 12 losses and we had 2 wounded,” he said.
Davtyan said linking these cases with March 1 is rather disputable. He also claimed that on March 1 the army neither opened fire nor received order to shoot.
