Republicans try to use situation with wiretapped conversation in their favor – Alen Simonyan
Member of the Yelk faction Alen Simonyan thinks there is no need to set an Investigative Committee as criminal case has already been filed in the Prosecutor General office.
“But as far as we have always been open and have always been speaking in favor of clarifying all the dark issues and taking into consideration that there is nothing extraordinary in the wiretapped conversation I will say let them set up the committee,” Simonyan told the reporters on Thursday, adding that the grounding must contain clear formulations for them to understand what the republicans pursue.
He said Republican party faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan applied to Yelk faction for signing the proposal on creating the committee but the faction declined it.
Simonyan stressed that the Republican party is trying to make use of the situation in its favor. “But they have a very serious issue – they do not have people’s support. This is the first issue they should solve and not make any manipulations. They are trying to put pressure on us, frighten us, but they will not succeed,” he said.
The NA will convene an extraordinary session at the initiative of the MPs to make a decision on creating the committee to discuss the wiretapping of the conversation between the National Security Service director and chief of the Special Investigation Service.
