State reduces mortgage loan’s interest rate for young families
The cabinet approved at its sitting today the bill presented by Finance Ministry on “Available Apartment for Young People.”
Finance minister Atom Janjughazyan briefed on the bill, noting that in 2018 the government will continue refunding the credits provided by the “Apartment for Young People” program and will ease the difficulties regarding prepayment.
“The mortgage loan for acquiring apartment from secondary market will be provided with at least 10-year term with maximum 9.5% interest rate of which 2% will be subsidized by the state,” the minister said, adding that for acquiring apartments in provinces the state will subsidize 4%.
The minister also said that for acquiring apartment from primary market the mortgage loan will be provided with at least 10-year term with 7.5% interest rate and is not subsidized.
The minister also said that the bill envisages raising the age threshold of the couple acquiring apartment.
“The total age of the couple must not exceed 70,” Janjughazyan said.
