Switzerland’s Ambassador hands over credentials to Armenia’s President
Newly appointed Ambassador of Switzerland Stefano Lazzarotto handed today his credentials Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian, the president’s office reported.
President Sarkissian congratulated the ambassador on assuming the office and wished success in his responsible activity.
Noting that Armenia and Switzerland have historically formed friendly relations, the president described the existing level of cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian fields satisfying. At the same time he noted that there is a great potential for developing these relations.
The president expressed conviction that with his work the new ambassador will contribute to enhancing the partnership agenda of the two countries.
Ambassador Lazzarotto said that the relations between the countries are developing consistently and the opening of Switzerland’s embassy in Armenia in 2011 has greatly contributed to the expansion of constructive dialogue. He expressed readiness to exert all his efforts to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in different fields.
