Amulsar mine exploitation to continue if presents no danger to Sevan and Jermuk waters – Armenia’s PM
Our final decision must be based on facts, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said speaking to reporters today, referring to Amulsar exploitation issue.
“In early June I was in Jermuk and offered Lydian Armenia company to cooperate for coming to a general conclusion over the facts, but unfortunately they declined the offer, and now we are forced to choose another way,” the premier said.
Nikol Pashinyan said that they need conclusion of international authoritative organization.
“I think we should get answers to two questions. The first one relates to the safety of Sevan and Jermuk waters and the second to drainage basin in general. As of the moment we do not have neutral answer,” the PM said.
He also stressed that if it appears that the exploitation is not dangerous for Sevan and Jermuk waters, the exploitation of mine will continue taking into consideration the created situation and the large volume of investments.
“If it appears that there is a danger, we will choose another way,” Pashinyan said.
