Some candidates diverted from campaign, created tensed atmosphere: mayoral candidate

Yerevan City election campaign is special and is similar to the parliamentary election campaign mayoral candidate of Yerevantsiner alliance Ararat Zurabyan told the reporters on Tuesday.

“On September 23 we are electing mayor who will serve Yerevan while it feels as if the candidates have diverted from the campaign path thus creating nervous situation where Yerevan has become secondary issue,” Zurabyan said.

Attaching significance to debates, the mayoral candidate expressed regret that they do not take place as residents do not clearly understand what Yerevan needs.

Referring to the tension between My Step and Prosperous Armenia Party, Zurabyan said it does not matter which force escalated the situation it is important to understand that the created atmosphere does not allow the residents focus and understand which candidate they want to see as capital’s mayor.
