Armenian PM describes situation on frontline “stable tense”
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accompanied with President of Karabakh Bako Sahakyan, Defense Minister and Defense Army Commander visited the frontline on September 18, the PM told in a live Facebook video.
He said he had a working discussion and met with interesting people.
Speaking about the situation on the frontline, Pashinyan said that though in general the situation is tensed but described it as “stable tense.”
“The Armenian armed forces are confidently controlling the situation. With Karabakh president and representatives of armed forces we discussed the current situation over Nagorno Karabakh conflict regulation and registered that there can be no doubts that our armed forces are keeping the situation under control and give necessary response to the provocations of the Azerbaijani side,” Pashinyan said.
Nevertheless he stressed that it does not mean that the Armenian side wants war, the opposite, Armenia finds that there is no alternative to peaceful negotiations.
“Karabakh president too said that we are ready for peace talks, but I want to register that we are ready for war too. It must be clear for all. Our confidence is based on the trust toward our armed forces and people,” Pashinyan said.
