We need our mayor for speedy and basic changes: MP
Statements of the prime minister on finding law violators should not be perceived as statements of a dictator, head of the Yelk parliamentary faction Lena Nazaryan said, speaking to Aysor.am.
“By now we have not heard the instructions of the prime minister to law enforcers on establishing rule and order in the streets, on disarming all, on revealing all noisy cases, thus now it may seem strange to us,” she said, adding that it all takes place within the limits of law.
The lawmaker said that if it is instructed to return all the sums stolen from the budget it too is being done in the sidelines of law.
“The thing is that people’s ears are not used to hearing a bit tougher position and immediately perceive it as dictatorship. But all happens within the limits of law. Till now it has not been done that is the reason why it is being done publicly, people want to know whether the authorities are doing what they promised or not,” Nazaryan said.
“The ties with public must by all means be kept. People are following the developments, they have questions and he gives answers,” she said, explaining why the PM speaks in the rallies.
As to the observation that Nikol Pashinyan’s speeches at the Yerevan City Council election campaign rallies are viewed by other candidates as unequal fight and as second round of revolution, the MP said, “Frankly speaking I agree with such observations. But it is necessary to register that the Yerevan elections must be viewed as continuation of revolution. If we want the revolution be long-lasting, succeeded and all the changes be speedy and basic we must have our mayor and have a majority in the Yerevan City Council,” Nazaryan said.
