Zhoghovurd: Pashinyan on the edge of losing allies
Zhoghovurd paper writes: “By approving the government program of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in May, the National Assembly agreed with the point of conduction snap elections while now their conduction seem to faill. It seems that Nikol Pashinyan is facing some problems in this issue. The thing is that the current Yerevan City Council pre-electoral situation is tensed and threats and accusations are being voiced toward one another. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the government is on the edge of collapse and Nikol Pashinyan on the edge of losing his allies. Some MPs from the Republican party, Prosperous Armenia party and Yelk are already speaking against snap elections, saying that they may vote against the bills.”
The paper says it means that if Pashinyan initiates constitutional reforms the parliament may not approve it. Another way of parliament dissolve is submitting resignation but it is dangerous as the Republican party may nominate own candidate and together with other parliamentary forces vote for him.
