CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov urges to stop escalation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border
CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov called to stop the existing tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
“We express our serious concern over the shooting on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border as well as the shelling of Armenian settlements and civil institutions which took lives of people,” Khachaturov said in his statement.
The CSTO is convinced that the bellicose rhetoric creates new tension and makes OSCE Minsk Group efforts vain.
“Taking into consideration the information provided by Armenia’s authorized representative in the CSTO presented at the September 21 session of the Standing Council, we urge to stop shooting and the escalation in the territory under CSTO's responsibility for ensuring security in the CSTO member state – Armenia,” CSTO Secretary General’s statement says.
