Karabakh has right to be independent state just like Armenia, Belarus and Azerbaijan: NA Vice Speaker
Delegation headed by the vice parliament speaker Eduard Sharmazanov departed today for capital of Belarus Minsk at the invitation of Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
On September 24 the Armenian delegation met with Vladimir Andreichenko. During the meeting the parties attached significance to the joint work of the Armenian-Belarus inter-parliamentary commission, cooperation in the CSTO, CIS and OSCE parliamentary assemblies.
The vice speaker briefed on the important issues of Armenia’s foreign agenda, stressing that effective confrontation of security challenges is of core significance for Armenia.
In this pre-context Sharmazanov referred to peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and reiterated Armenia’s position on the necessity of peace talks within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group.
“The only impediment to the progress in the talks is Azerbaijan’s unconstructive position. This state rejects the right of Artsakh people to self-determination while the conflict settlement should guarantee the implementation of this right. Artsakh has the right to be independent state just like Armenia, Belarus and Azerbaijan,” Sharmazanov said.
