Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who is in New York on a working visit met in the evening of September 23 with the representatives of the Armenian community.
“It may seem a little strange that the ruling political force gets such number of votes in the Yerevan City Council elections, but you all know that a special political context has been given to these elections: I have asked to vote for My Step alliance which would mean voting for conduction of snap parliamentary elections,” Pashinyan said.
He said he is going to convene consultation with parliamentary and extra parliamentary forces to discuss the time and terms of conduction of the elections.
“In general we thought about the conduction of elections within a year starting from June but the developments, economy’s standby and the investors who do not believe that the political situation in the country will not change need long-term political fixation,” he said, stressing that for ensuring economic development and more favorable investment field the snap elections should be conducted earlier.
