RPA: Time has come for serious political dialogue and effective work

Armenia’s Republican party congratulates the newly elected mayor of Yerevan and City Council members on the victory in the elections.

“We hope the newly elected mayor and council members will implement the promises they voiced during the campaign,” the party’s statement says.

“The Republican party has not participated in the elections to prevent the extreme polarization in the society. Unfortunately, My Step bloc and Prime Minister Pashinyan built their campaign on dividing people into blacks and whites which resulted in diverting from the campaign making it dangerous and unpromising. It is obvious that the majority of the people did not back their approach,” the statement said, adding that time has come for serious political dialogue and effective work.

“People expect practical steps for combating challenges the country is facing,” the statement said.
