Armenia’s PM, Iran’s President discuss expansion of cooperation
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met in New York with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani.
During the meeting the leaders of the two countries discussed different issues on the Armenian-Iranian agenda.
The interlocutors attached significance to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries and stressed the necessity of bringing it into the level of political dialogue.
The parties voiced the necessity of undertaking practical steps for promoting trade-economic ties.
Pashinyan stressed that the Armenian-Iranian relations have peculiar nature and must continue developing on the basis of firm ties.
In his turn Hassan Rouhani stressed the high level of trust existing between the two countries. The Iranian president said that the Armenian community has an important role in the country and enjoys the respect of Iranian people.
Speaking about economic partnership, Rouhani said the agreement signed with the Eurasian Economic Union aimed at creation free trade zone will too give an opportunity to deepen Armenian-Iranian economic partnership.
Pashinyan and Rouhani referred to the cooperation in energy, road building sectors.
Iranian president invited Pashinyan to Iran expressing conviction that the visit will give an opportunity to discuss expansion of bilateral cooperation more thoroughly.
