Armenia’s FM presents Armenia’s position in Karabakh conflict settlement to CoE Secretary General
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrap Mnatsakanyan met in New York with Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland in the margins of 73d summit of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting the interlocutors highly rated the established effective cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe, discussed a number of issues on Armenia’s engagement in Council of Europe.
The parties also referred to possibilities of finding solution to a number of issues the organization is facing and the efforts addressed to them.
The Armenian foreign minister referred to the recent domestic political developments in Armenia, priorities of the new government’s program, including human rights protection, strengthening of democracy and fighting against corruption.
Mnatsakanyan also presented to his interlocutor Armenia’s position in the Karabakh conflict settlement, stressing the importance of creation positive atmosphere, preservation of ceasefire regime and restrain of inflammatory rhetoric.
