Republican party against urgent elections but ready for dialogue with PM: Eduard Sharmazanov
Republican party’s executive body's meeting was convened on September 27 not to discuss snap parliamentary elections in particular, but the domestic political, foreign political situation, vice chairman of the party Eduard Sharmazanov said, speaking to Aysor.am
Sharmazanov stressed that the party is ready for political dialogue but not confrontation.
“The formation of political agenda in Armenia is possible only through dialogue. But being ready for dialogue does not mean accept the proposal of the opposite side,” Sharmazanov stressed.
He added that the Republican party is against urgent developments and urgent elections.
“I am against self-dissolution, as it is wrong to dissolve the National Assembly for a person to keep the power in his hands,” Sharmazanov stressed.
He said let the Prime Minister come and make proposals over the rest of the issues for the parliamentary forces to discuss them.
“The Republican party has never fled discussions, it is the force which has always been speaking in favor of political dialogues, but we will never agree to pre-conditions and ultimatums,” he said, again stressing that there is no need of snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.
“All the fairy tales that the National Assembly impedes the development of economic policy, investments are vain. Till now the new authorities neither submitted economic development program nor one on Karabakh issue,” the vice speaker of the NA stressed, adding that till now the NA has not rejected any program.
