Pashinyan, Aliyev agree to undertake steps to decrease escalation on border
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev have agreed to undertake steps for decreasing the escalation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
“As a result of conversation we have registered few points. We agreed to instruct defense ministers undertake concrete steps for decrease of escalation on the border zone. Particularly steps to prevent border incidents,” Pashinyan said in Facebook live video.
He said he has informed Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan about the arrangement.
“We can say that we have reached arrangement on preventing ceasefire violation. I gave corresponding instructions to the Armed Forces, and I am happy to register that the past night was the calmest and most peaceful since my election as PM,” he said, adding that Ilham Aliyev said he is also committed to peaceful settlement of the conflict.
