Armenian NA chairman meets with European Parliament deputy
Armenian National Assembly chairman Ara Babloyan who is in Karabakh on a working visit met on September 28 with European Parliament deputy Eleni Theocharous and members of Cyprian parliament Giorgos Perdikis and Mikais Giorgalas.
During the meeting Babloyan highlighted Eleni Theocharous personal efforts and activity addressed to the expansion of Armenia-EU relations, raise of Armenia-related issues in the European Parliament and frequent visits to Artsakh for making it recognizable to the world.
Speaking about cooperation in international platforms, NA chairman said that the Armenian side has always backed the Cyprian side in important issues and is glad that this working style is mutual.
The parties also referred to the domestic political developments in Armenia. The head of the parliament stressed that strengthening of democracy is of core significance for Armenia.
Eleni Theocharous expressed conviction that Cyprus will always support Armenia and its people. “We are amazed with your achievements, with your freedom and self-determination fight,” she said, adding that they will continue their initiatives over Artsakh in European Parliament.
