The nerve must be removed from the talks: Armen Ashotyan
The meeting of the Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and head of the Republican party faction Vahram Baghdasaryan over conduction of snap parliamentary elections is a necessity, vice chairman of the Republican party Armen Ashotyan told the reporters today.
“The meeting was not aimed at pleasing anyone,” he stressed adding that naturally some points of the meeting are to remain close. “It is not a reality show and the goal is not the process but the outcome,” Ashotyan said.
He stressed that their viewpoints were not extremely different. “The statement of the PM as if the Republican does not want elections until 2022 seemed strange to me. The party does not have such decision, different MPs have different opinions but during the yesterday’s discussion our representative has not voiced such decision,” he said.
Ashotyan also stressed that the success of the process does not depend on Republicans only but on the meetings with other parliamentary forces as well. He urged Pashinyan to restrain from unnecessary emotions.
“The nerve must be removed from the talks. During the past interview the PM seemed to be a little nervous. He should not have opened much of what was talked about. One thing may be beneficial for one, the other for the other side that is why one should be attentive not to put under blow the arrangement. I am quite pleased with the behavior of both Nikol [Pashinyan] and Vahram [Baghdasaryan] as they managed to keep some of the conversation between them closed,” Ashotyan said.
