Francophone atmosphere to dominate in Yerevan and Armenia from October 7
Francophone atmosphere will dominate in Yerevan and Armenia from October 7, head of MFA’s task group set for the organization of Francophone summit events Vahagn Melikyan told the reporters today.
“Ministerial meeting is set for October 8 and 9. On October 9 at 5 p.m. official opening ceremony of Francophone settlement will take place in Freedom Square with the participation of Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie Michaëlle Jean,” he said, adding that on the same day the Day of Youth will be celebrated.
Melikyan said the settlement will have more than 40 pavilions, a stage where different concert programs will be performed.
The head of the task group also noted that on October 10 in Tumo center Francophone Economic Forum will start its works under the highest auspices of Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian.
On October 11 the main summit will launch and continue on October 12 as well. “Over 83 representatives of associated and observer countries as well as representatives of organization’s partner institutions will arrive in Armenia,” he said.
On October 11 at 7.30 p.m. the gala-concert will take place with the participation of world famous singers which will be followed with a discotheque with participation of French weel knonw DJ.
Melikyan said leaders, presidents, heads of governments of over 40 countries will arrive in Armenia.
