Emmanuel Macron’s “Revolution” book presented in Armenian (photos)

“Revolution” book written by President of France Emmanuel Macron has already an Armenian variant at the initiative of Newmag company.

The presentation of the book took place today in French embassy in Armenia. It is being published ahead of the visit of the French President and conduction of Francophone Summit in Armenia.

“It is a book about France and its publication this week is very symbolizing considering the revolutionary moods in Armenia and the upcoming Francophone Summit in Yerevan. The book presents the everyday activity of today’s France which too has undergone revolution. The real revolution in France took place in 2017 when the country faced the alternative of electing between two completely different candidates. France gave chance to 39-year old young man, who did not have any authorities before, to become a president. In 2011 France appeared in unprecedented source of political change as the 95% of the MPs were replaced. The political elite became young, a big number of women were engaged in politics,” Jonathan Lacôte, Ambassador of France to Armenia, said in his speech at the event.

The ambassador stressed that the President of France will arrive in Armenia accompanied with advocates of Armenian-French friendly relations.

Head of publishing program Artak Alexanyan said it is the first time when European political bestseller is being translated into Armenian. He stressed that while selecting it they did not even imagine the necessity of such book for the Armenian society.

The translation has been entrusted to journalist, TV anchor Artak Herikyan who during the presentation asked to pay tribute to the memory of French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour with a minute of silence. The journalist said with pain how he waited for the visit of chansonnier to present him the book he has translated.

“This book will help us all understand the mother state of Francophone world – France’s strives, goals and issues. This is a book on how to change state system, political apparatus from inside, how to break stereotypes. It will allow us to better recognize France,” Herikyan stressed.

Artak Alexanyan said that while editing each page the Newmag editor-in-chief Gnel Nalbandyan was shouting, “Oh, my God, this book should be given to our political figures to read!”
