Social, defense expenses prevail in 2019 state draft budget: minister
The budget of the upcoming year will adopt fiscal policy which will help stabilize the debt, Armenia’s Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan said at a cabinet sitting today, presenting the 2019 draft budget.
The minister said the debt is not being taken for caring everyday needs and to win the favor of some part of the people but to create new outcome that will be capable to generate new opportunities.
He noted that the incomes of the state budget are expected to be 1 trillion 399 billion AMD which will allow making expenses amounting to 1 trillion 642 billion AMD.
The minister said he would not brief on expenses but noted that not much has been changed in its structure with large share of weight being addressed to social expenses.
“Naturally, the defense sector expenses have weighty share too,” he said, adding that the weight of capital expenses has grown as well.
The minister said with capital investments it is expected to create new income generating actives.
