Neither nomination, nor participation in snap parliamentary election an end in itself for Republicans: Sharmazanov
I have not heard a final response from the Prosperous Armenia Party over their position in snap parliamentary election issue, National Assembly vice speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told the reporters on Friday.
“Except Yelk I have not heard from any other force who would say they agree to dissolving the parliament,” he noted.
He said there are two elections: elections and imposed elections. “When PM resigns it is already imposed election,” Sharmazanov said.
As to the possibility of nominating candidate by Republicans not to dissolve the parliament, Sharmazanov said, “We will neither nominate candidate as an end itself nor head to snap parliamentary elections as an end in itself. Each action should be based on an idea,” he stressed.
Sharmazanov said he has many times stressed that the PM’s proposal is neither the worst nor the best variant.
“Sometimes you need to choose between the bad and the worst, now the ball is in his field. If you are resigning in accordance with Constitution, the political forces stemming from country’s interests will discuss to nominate or not, then what program to bring, who to nominate,” Sharmazanov added.
