Mills: Armenian-American ties to continue developing
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received today U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, who is ending his tenure in Armenia.
The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for his contribution to strengthening the Armenian-American cooperation.
“During your tenure bilateral relations between the two countries developed in different directions. I want to thank you for your balanced position during the velvet revolution as well. The United States is an important partner for Armenia, and I am convinced that hence the Armenian-American friendly relations will continue expanding,” Nikol Pashinyan stressed, wishing the Ambassador success in his future mission.
The Ambassador in his turn thanked Pashinyan for constructive cooperation, noting that he will remain Armenia’s friend and will keep the ties with the Armenian people.
“I am ending my tenure as an Ambassador of the United States, and I register with pride the continuously developing relations between our countries in different directions starting from business and ending with state management and civil society strengthening,” he said, expressing conviction that in future as well the cooperation will develop. “Now when the government and the Armenian people are sailing in this important time of Armenia’s history I wish you, Mr Prime Minister, all the best,” Mills stressed.
The interlocutors also exchanged ideas over the Armenian-American cooperation agenda, implemented programs and prospects of further development of partnership.
During the meeting the parties also referred to the recent domestic political developments in Armenia. The prime minister noted that after the velvet revolution Armenia is constantly moving forward with the democratic path of development. The Ambassador hailed the government’s steps toward the reforms in that direction.
