Republicans fail to understand the situation again: Armenia’s PM
Snap parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia in December, Armenia’s Prime Minister NIkol Pashinyan said at a meeting with reporters today.
“I will talk about details later,” he said, adding that he discussed the political situation in Armenia with the country’s president Armen Sarkissian in Paris.
“He will be back on October 9, and we will meet again,” the PM stressed.
Asked whether he will sign the controversial bill into law or not, Pashinyan said the president will come up with a statement.
He also added that while he was in Paris some developments took place which will also be considered.
“In particular the interview of the PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan who, we may register, has backed our decision to conduct snap parliamentary elections in December. I am going to meet with Mr Tsarukyan on that occasion to discuss all the possible scenarios,” he said.
Pashinyan also stressed that meeting with the ARF-D is also expected.
As to the observation that the Republicans have not excluded nomination of their candidate, Pashinyan stressed it means they still do not understand the created situation.
“On one hand they claim that they expect atmosphere of tolerance, on the other they do everything for people not to tolerate them. I urge them to stop behaving this way as there should not always be an impression that there is a political force which aims at bothering people, bothering the state and impeding the country’s progress,” the pm said.
