Armenian NA Chairman receives U.S. outgoing Ambassador Richard Mills
Armenia’s National Assembly Chairman Ara Babloyan received today outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills.
Welcoming the guest, the NA Chairman expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his efforts addressed to the development of Armenian-American relations and for the fruitful and effective work during the years of his tenure.
Babloyan stressed that during the recent years the bilateral cooperation has considerably developed stemming from the interests of the two countries. He also noted that noticeable achievements have been registered in a number of directions due to the constant and purposeful work.
The parliament speaker also stressed that the inter-parliamentary ties have important place in bilateral relations which were quite active recently.
The head of the parliament highly rated the consistent support of the U.S side in strengthening of democracy in Armenia.
During the meeting the parties also referred to the recent domestic developments in Armenia. Babloyan stressed that during the meetings in international platforms, as Chairman of the NA he always encourages Armenia’s partners to assist the new government of the country in the development and strengthening of democracy.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Ambassador emphasized the effective cooperation established between the two countries during the years of his tenure.
“I am convinced that the United States will continue supporting the Armenian people in strengthening of firm and independent parliament,” Mills said.
