Armenian NA chairman, Lithuanian FM discuss cooperation issues
Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan received on Tuesday Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, who is in Armenia to participate in the La Francophonie summit in Yerevan, NA press service reports.
During the meeting the NA chairman attached significance to the close contacts between the parliamentarians of the two countries and intensification of cooperation.
Speaking about Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, Babloyan expressed gratitude to the Lithuanian leadership for ratifying it.
Referring to the domestic political developments in Armenia, Babloyan said they had not influenced the Armenian-Lithuanian relations and once again proved that Armenia continues its democratic path.
Linas Linkevičius thanked for the warm reception and rated high the current level of bilateral relations. He attached significance to the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, the reciprocal visits of the lawmakers and exchange of experience.
Linkevičius also stressed the necessity of developing and deepening economic partnership between the two countries.
During the meeting the parties referred to the regional issues. Speaking about Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Babloyan said that there is no alternative to the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
