New energy in Armenia and Azerbaijan may promote Karabakh conflict settlement: U.S. Ambassador

Outgoing U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills referred at a press conference on Tuesday to the message of U.S. President Donald Trump on the Independence Day of Armenia where he stressed that soon new opportunities for Karabakh conflict settlement would be created.

One of the reporters mentioned that the same message was addressed to Azerbaijan in May.

“There is nothing hidden in these two messages,” Mills said, adding that the USA has registered political developments in the two countries recently.

“Last year elections were held in Azerbaijan and this year we have witnessed dramatic changes in Armenia. The words of the U.S. President refer to the new changes in the two counties, to the new energy that may promote the process of finding solutions. It is an expression of hope and an expectation,” the U.S. Ambassador said.
