Eduard Sharmazanov urges Azerbaijani parliament speaker recognize right of Artsakh people to self-determination

The third international conference of the heads of Eurasian parliaments started its work in Antalya with the Armenian side being represented by vice chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov.

During the conference chairman of the Azerbaijani parliament (Mili Mejlis) Ogtay Asadov referred to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, spoke about the “occupation of 20% of territories,” military “separatism” of Armenia and Artsakh and Armenia’s aggression.

In response, Sharmazanov said, “Both Armenia and Artsakh are committed to exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict. My Azerbaijani partner spoke about peaceful settlement of the conflict. Mr Asadov, if you really want peaceful settlement of the conflict you must first of all recognize the full realization of the right of Artsakh people to self-determination.”
