Head of Armenian Delegation to PACE opens brackets about pro-Armenian resolution
Head of the Armenian Delegation to PACE, deputy vice speaker of Armenian parliament Arpine Hovhannisyan has presented the details of new pro-Armenian resolution adopted in PACE sitting in Strasburg.
She said on October 10 the PACE voted and adopted the resolution presented by German delegate Frank Schwabe on “Unlimited Availability to Member Countries including “Gray Zones” by the Council of Europe and UN Human Rights Monitoring Bodies.”
“The resolution is aimed at applying human rights protection monitoring tools in unrecognized states (gray zones) including in Nagorno-Karabakh. Human rights must be protected irrespective of whether a person is in gray, black, white or red zone,” Hovhannisyan said.
She claimed that the resolution which first had anti-Armenian formulations became pro-Armenian which is why the Azerbaijani delegation voted against it.
“The Azerbaijani aggressive, but powerless rhetoric received corresponding response in the sitting,” she said, adding that during her 1.5 years of activity as head of Armenia’s delegation to PACE it is the seventh report which does not include anti-Armenian definitions but the opposite pro-Armenian.
