Nagorno Karabakh should have resolute voice in peace talks: Armenia’s PM
The Nagorno Karabakh conflict has put in contradiction Nagorno Karabakh, which is fulfilling its self-determination right for 25 years, and Azerbaijan, refusing a dialogue with Nagorno Karabakh, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today in the opening speech of 17th summit of La Francophonie.
“We are convinced that Nagorno Karabakh should have a resolute voice in the peace talks and its status must be decided considering the right of its people to express own will,” he said.
Pashinyan stressed that security issue is of core significance for Nagorno Karabakh.
“Nagorno Karabakh has so often become the victim of violation of rights, discrimination and aggressions that the repeating attempts of dialogue and usage of force seriously endanger the physical existence of its population,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that Armenia believes that the creation of peace-oriented atmosphere is important for registering progress in the conflict settlement and all the efforts of Armenia are addressed toward finding comprehensive agreements which will be of vital significance for preparing the populations of conflicting parties for peace.
