French president and his spouse impressed with Armenian wine and brandy
During the Francophone summit in Yerevan the guests were mostly impressed with Armenian wine and brandy, Armenia’s acting PM Nikol Pashinyan said at the cabinet sitting today.
“I was very glad as present were heads of countries considered to be world winemaking leaders,” he said.
Pashinyan stressed he was glad to hear that President of France and his spouse expressed their opinion over the quality of Armenian wine and brandy.
“And not only they, our wines and brandy impressed our guests which means that we managed to reach a certain international criteria in the production of wine and brandy,” Pashinyan said.
He stressed that it is necessary to encourage the producers to enter new markets.
“It is obvious that winemaking is a promising branch. We consider the brandy production already reinforced sector but the problem here is the consumption of fake product in the market and especially in the territory of Eurasian Economic Union,” he said, meaning the Armenian brandy is spread and consumed in the EAEU territory which in reality is not of Armenian production.
Pashinyan stressed that serious control must be carried out in this egard.
