Sasna Tsrer party to participate in snap parliamentary elections

Sasna Tsrer party will participate in the parliamentary elections in December, co-founder of the party Varuzhan Avetisyan said, speaking to Aysor.am.

“The decision on participation has already been made but the format of participation is not clear yet,” Varuzhan Avetisyan said, adding that all the options are possible but nothing is decided yet.

As to the media publications about possible formation of bloc with PAP, Avetisyan said there is no such decision.

Avetisyan also said no decision has been made who will top the list. He noted that the issues will be discussed in the process.

“If no force majeure situations are registered with all the political forces forced to work in consolidated format, Sasna Tsrer party will come up with its program and goals and will not join any force,” Avetisyan said.

As to how they treat the threats to conduct another October 2 [mass rally] if parliamentary forces nominate prime ministerial candidate , Avetisyan said, “This threat comes first of all from people, we are part of the people too. Yes, we believe that it is right to threat, we must make clear for them who is the real owner of the country.”

Asked with what Electoral Code the party would like to participate in the elections, Avetisyan said that the offered amendments are more convenient.

“Though we expected more radical changes but if to choose between the two, naturally the new amendments are better,” Avetisyan said.
