Venice Commission expected to give positive assessment to amendments in Electoral Code
Acting First Vice Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan who has left for Venice today to present the bill of amendments in Electoral Code to the Venice Commission, met with its Chairman Gianni Buquicchio.
At the meeting present were representative of the commission set up for preparing amendments in the code Daniel Ionnisyan. The latter told Aysor.am that during the meeting issues on the process of electoral reforms in Armenia were discussed.
Ionnisyan refused to speak about how the session passed, saying that it will be done by the government’s press service.
Aysor.am has learnt that the session passed in the positive atmosphere, with the Venice Commission fully assisting the reforms Armenia is undertaking for improving the election process in the country. The Commission is expected to give positive assessment to the presented bill.
The bill of amendments has also been approved by the NA’s State-Legal and Human Rights Protection Standing Committee today.
