No surprise nominations expected: Republican MP
Republican party is not going to make any surprises regarding nomination of prime ministerial candidate, NA vice speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan told the reporters today.
As to the observation about the necessity of conduction session in case no nominations are planned, Hovhannisyan said sessions should be convened in any case.
She stressed that as of the moment there are disagreements between the government representatives on how to conduct elections. She said the disagreement relates to “voting” term.
Arpine Hovhannisyan said that there are two options – nomination of Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy and waiting for a voting during which he is not elected or no nominations by political forces.
“The interpretation is in the domain of constitutionality, let the government decide itself,” she said.
As to whether the Republican party will do as government decides, vice speaker said as a representative of the Republican faction she will follow her party’s position. “As I have already stated no surprise nominations are expected,” she stressed.
