Yelk faction to state its decision on prime ministerial candidate nomination today: Yelk lawmaker
Yelk faction does not exclude nomination of prime ministerial candidate at tomorrow’s elections for the voting issue be solved constitutionally and the PM not elected in the first round, Yelk MP Hayk Konjoryan told Aysor.am.
“I think we will have final decision over the nomination issue by the end of the day,” he said.
Speaking about boycott of the new Electoral Code by the Republican faction, Konjoryan said that it is impossible to build new Armenia with the old games' rules oand use old tools for political caprices and interests.
“I think if there is another opportunity for discussing and voting this opportunity should be used,” the MP stressed.
As to whether the old Electoral Code is more favorable for Republicans and whether he sees them in the NA as new opposition colleagues, Konjoryan said that first the Republicans should solve the issue of reinterpreting themselves, the political road they passed and their visions about Armenia’s policy.
“I thought the Republicans would have picked some lessons after these changes, but they moved forward with “the only lesson of history is that no one picks a lesson from it” saying. With their actions they escalate the situation and raise the wave of discontent against themselves,” he said, asking how after it the Republicans will carry out campaign and participate in the elections.
The lawmaker stressed that all the political forces, Republicans as well, must stop for a minute and think whether the chosen methodology will not pull out them from the political field.
“They currently have some opportunity for reinterpretation and return and gain the people’s trust as everyone has a right for mistake but they must find will and strength. Though their recent actions are not inspiring hope in that regard,” he stressed.
