Armenia expects active participation of international financial institutions in implementation of various programs: President

Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian who is in Switzerland on a working visit met on October 24 in Geneva with United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Secretary General Mukhisa Kituyi.

During the meeting the president attached significance to the assistance of the organization to Armenia’s economy.

Noting that Armenia has a big potential and ambitious programs in certain economic branches, in IT, education, agriculture in particular, President Sarkissian said that the country expects active participation of international financial institutions in the implementation of various programs.

UNCTAD secretary general, in his turn, hailed Armenia’s growing involvement in different programs.

During the meeting the interlocutors also discussed issues on Armenia’s investment policy, foreign debt management and expansion of cooperation.
