Republican faction stays committed to reached arrangements: faction head
The Republican faction does not breach arrangements and will not vote for prime ministerial candidate Nikol Pashinyan, faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan told the reporters today.
Speaking about Pashinyan’s speech, Baghdasaryan said that as far as the nomination was formal he was not supposed to present program speech.
As to Pashinyan’s claim that without amended Electoral Code the Republican party has no chances to win, Baghdasaryan said, “Change of the Electoral Code just a month before the elections is rather serious problem. It will have negative impact on our authority. Everyone should understand that we cannot change the Electoral Code just a month before the elections.”
To the observation that the amended code stems from the interests of the Republican party, head of the faction asked not to personalize. “I would ask you not to personalize from whose interests it stems. Who is interested in December elections?” he asked.
