Elections in Kapan legal: Nikol Pashinyan
Appointment of former deputy chief of the police Hunan Poghosyan as governor of Syunik was not aimed at establishing new dictatorship in the province but to ensure the freedom and rights of the residents of Syunik, acting PM Nikol Pashinyan stated at the NA today.
He said the protection of rights of Syunik residents will be impossible unless neutralizing the unhealthy impact of criminal and economic elite in the province. “It is a problem we should solve clearly, resolutely and indisputably,” Pashinyan said.
Speaking about mayoral elections in Kapan, Pashinyan said that they have accepted the results of the voting as it is clear expression of people’s will.
“We want frank dialogue with the people, we want to contact with all. The election result has formed by the people’s voting. I want to clearly stress that the elections in Kapan and their results are legal,” Pashinyan stressed, adding thought that the political and economic elite had an unhealthy impact on the election result in Kapan which means that the revolution has not reached everywhere.
