USA assists ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia: John Bolton
Assistant to the U.S. President for National Security Affairs (NSA) John Bolton met today with Armenia’s National Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, acting Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan and acting Foreign Affairs Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, NSC press service reports.
Welcoming the guest the NSC secretary hailed the visit of such high-level U.S. delegation to Armenia, especially in such important timeframe for the country and emphasized that Armenia highly rates the development and enhancement of bilateral political, economic and trade relations with the United States.
In his turn, Bolton stressed that he is happy to be in Armenia to emphasize the significance of bilateral relations and discuss a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda.
“I attach great significance to this possibility to discuss core strategic and security issues of mutual interest, including America’s policy on Iran, Russia and Syria as well as our general efforts toward strengthening stability in the region. We assist the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia, which outline more prosperous, free and independent future, ” he said.
During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, referred to the foreign policy priorities of the two countries, exchanged ideas over regional and international issues.
