Assistant to the U.S. President for National Security Affairs (NSA) John Bolton spoke at the meeting with Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in Armenia in December, Bolton stated about it at a news conference in Yerevan.
“We talked about snap parliamentary elections in December and referred to certain postponements as a result of it. We have also spoken about the social opinion poll which showed the strong mandate the prime minister will get at the upcoming elections. I have asked him to reveal the secret of his success but he refused to do it. May be he will do it after the elections,” Bolton said.
He stressed that if the forecasts become a reality after the elections the prime minister will get a very strong mandate for undertaking a number of resolute steps.
Bolton also said that he has met with a number of Armenian analysts.
“It has become clear to me that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement issue is one of the prior issues of the Armenian foreign policy agenda,” the U.S. President Assistant said.
