Republican party to discuss participation in snap elections in near future: faction head

Armenia’s Republican party will make a statement in near future regarding its participation in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, faction head Vahram Baghdasaryan told the reporters today.

“We are going to convene a conference in the coming days and make a statement. We have not yet discussed who will top the list,” Baghdasaryan said.

Asked about the possibility of the list to be headed by second president Serzh Sargsyan, Baghdasaryan stressed that he cannot tell anything regarding it as the issue has not been discussed yet.

“I can only say that list will be strictly political. A list suitable for opposition force,” Baghdasaryan said, adding that the Republican party wants formation of political parliament.

“We are entering the National Assembly to show our face, to restore ourselves,” he said, stressing that the party will be “radical-constructive” opposition but will notice positive developments as well.
