Mediators should either refrain from providing arms to parties or do it in a balanced way: ARF-D MP
Head of the ARF-D faction Armen Rustamyan considers the visit of the Assistant to U.S. President for National Security Affairs John Bolton as highly significant and addressed for future.
“We know too the geopolitical significance of the region and that the developments here are in the field of direct interests of super powers,” Rustamyan said.
As to Bolton’s statement on purchasing arms from the USA, Rustamyan said Bolton’s remarks are really of vital significance both for the future of the region and Armenia’s foreign policy. “We were saying that the right foreign policy for Armenia will be to show the super powers that it has same viewpoint either in Russia, or Brussels or Washington,” he said.
The MP stressed that Armenia must show everyone that its relations are not addressed against anyone but stem from its vital interests.
“The mediators should either refrain from providing arms to the parties or do it in a balanced way. I think Armenia has a bit suspended the process of arms gathering and if with that statement Bolton meant that for keeping balance Armenia must have other types of weaponry as well, it should be only welcomed,” Rustamyan said.
